We have created the components in several MXP
files. This makes it easier to install only the components you are
interested in, and the Reference panel help takes less time to load
than if the help files were contained in a single MXP. If you prefer
a single MXP for all components, email
us once you have bought the set.
The following series of pages (indexed on the left) give examples
of how to use the components included in the FIS Components distribution.
The MXP files contain full Reference panel help for each component.
You will see that we have not implemented any particular programmatic
skinning methodology for these components, like the v1 architecture.
We feel that it is easiest just to modify the Library graphics as
needed. Some components, such as the button, jog, and potentiometer,
do have extra parameters that let you specify the linkage ID of
graphics to use. The changes are not reflected in the Live Previews,
but do take effect in your published movie.
These components are licensed on a per-developer basis..

Note: The current distribution is intended for
Flash MX only. The components have not been thoroughly
tested in Flash MX 2004, but critical issues have been noted publishing
them to the Flash Player 7 (see Using in MX
2004). We are in the process of building the components using
the v2 architecture.
Note about Live Preview:
All components except FISButtonString
have Live Preview movies so you can see during authoring how the
component will look in the published movie. However, the Live Previews
cannot change the default graphics for the components, even when
you have provided your own graphics in the Library. Also, components
that have variable lengths (digital displays, barrel dials, keypads,
etc.) have Live Preview movies that extend beyond the boundaries
of the original movie clip. Therefore, when you need to select the
clip, click on the leftmost (and topmost, for keypads) key or digit.
It is normal that the Live Preview does not always refresh the display
properly in these cases. Move the view to a different part of the
Stage and when the area of the Stage with the component is drawn
again, the correct rendition will appear. |
